Yikes...lots to blog about.
Sooooo first of all- I went to Laos for two weeks. It is a neat country that is very different from vietnam. There are not people constantly coming up to you trying to sell you things. In fact, it is the opposite. Instead of having tuk-tuk drivers constantly asking you if you need a ride, you actually have to seek out the tuk-tuke drivers in laos. they are typically laying in their tuk-tuks (either in a hammock or on top of their motor bike) and you have to literally wake them up to ask them for a ride. then they normally proceed to point their finger at their friend/colleague across the street if they dont want to take you to your destination.
Vientienne, capital of Laos, was the first city we visited. Pretty small, not too much to do but many beautiful wats (temples). YOu can just be strolling down the street and pass the most exsquisite temples and you pass monks everywhere walking on the streets. Not too much to say about this city, however, there were some cute french restaurants (laos, along with cambodia, were french colonies until the early 1950s). We did take a day trip to Buddha Park, which is like an hour outside of the city. It is literally just a walled in park that is full of hundreds of buddhas
